Full-board, all-inclusive
Rates at Sausage Tree are full-board and all-inclusive: meals, drinks (house wines, spirits, soft drinks, hot drinks, water), twice-daily open-vehicle game drives, guided bush walks where weather and guide availability allow, the conservation contribution to Daktari Bush School, and VAT at 15%.
The Olifants West Nature Conservancy levy (R120 per vehicle plus R450 per person, cash at the gate) is settled separately on arrival. Transfers from Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (HDS) are quoted on top. South African residents have a dedicated three-band rate structure across our two tiers; returning guests receive a 10% reduction — mention this at enquiry.
Age 6 and over
Children & Families
We host families regularly. Children aged six and over are welcome on standard bookings, with adult supervision required day and night (the camp is unfenced). Children aged six to twelve sharing with an adult are 50% of the adult sharing rate. Children under six are welcome when the entire camp is booked by a single family or group, with game-drive arrangements adjusted accordingly.

How to Book
Send us your dates — James or Sonja will reply with availability and a tentative quote. You can book directly with us or through your trusted travel agent; both paths work the same way. A deposit of 50% secures the booking; the balance is payable 30 days before arrival. Changes to dates are free up to 90 days before arrival.
Terms & Conditions
- Deposit & balance
- A 50% deposit is required within 7 days to secure the booking; the balance is payable 30 days before arrival. Any additional costs are settled on departure in cash or by card at the lodge.
- Payment
- EFT, cash, or credit card. Bank handling and credit-card processing fees (typically 4.25% on card transactions) are for the client's account. Refunds are in Rand and exclude bank charges; we accept no liability for exchange-rate movement.
- Change of dates
- Once confirmed, a booking can be moved to alternative dates up to 90 days before arrival at no cost. Within 90 days of arrival, standard cancellation fees apply.
- Insurance & indemnity
- Guests carry adequate travel and medical insurance (trip cancellation, emergency evacuation, hospitalisation) and sign an indemnity agreement on arrival.
- Children & camp etiquette
- Children aged six and over must be supervised by their parents day and night. We ask guests to respect the calm of others in camp and on safari.
- Liability
- Sausage Tree Safari Camp, its owners, and staff cannot be held liable for injury or loss to person or property during your stay or in travel to and from the lodge, nor for any independent third-party transfer, tour, or activity arranged on your behalf.
