At Sausage Tree Safari Camp, our five elevated tents offer two distinct styles of accommodation — three Superior Safari Tents and two spacious Luxury Tented Suites. Whichever you choose, you'll enjoy the same intimate connection with the bush, a private viewing deck, en-suite bathroom, outdoor shower and the unforgettable experience of sleeping beneath canvas in the African wilderness.

Authentic safari living, elevated.

Our three Superior Safari Tents offer an intimate and wonderfully authentic safari experience, elevated amongst the trees with views across the bush and towards the Northern Drakensberg Mountains.

Recently refined with sliding glass doors and mosquito nets, each tent feels light, spacious and beautifully connected to its surroundings. Inside, you'll find a comfortable king or twin configuration, air-conditioning, and a stylish en-suite bathroom with both a bath and outdoor shower.

Step outside onto your private viewing deck and settle into the stillness of the bush — perhaps with a morning coffee as the day awakens, or a glass of wine as the sun slips behind the mountains.

Comfortable, private and distinctly safari, our Superior Safari Tents are perfect for couples or friends travelling together who want to experience the magic of sleeping under canvas without compromising on modern comforts.

For those looking for a little more space and flexibility, our two Luxury Tented Suites offer an elevated take on the Superior Safari Tents.

Designed with a generous sleeping area and a separate, comfortable lounge space, the Suites are ideal for a romantic escape or for families travelling with young children. The lounge can also be converted into sleeping space to offer different bed configurations — giving families and couples greater flexibility when choosing how they stay.

The Suites enjoy all the comforts of our Superior Safari Tents, including air-conditioning, an elegant en-suite bathroom with both a bath and outdoor shower, and a spacious private deck overlooking the surrounding bush.

There is room to linger here. Stretch out after a morning game drive, relax with a book, or simply sit back and watch the wilderness unfold around you.

Couples

Either choice works. Luxury Tented Suites carry the larger interior; Superior Safari Tents share the same private deck, bath and outdoor shower.

4–6

Families

Children 6+ are welcome on shared game drives. The two Luxury Tented Suites are the best fit for families — each takes two adults and one child, who sleeps on the sleeper couch in the separate lounge. A larger family of four typically books two suites. We plan meal timings and a child-friendly afternoon pace around your party. Children under 6 are welcome on exclusive-use bookings only.
